Spacious 1 bedroom flat. Recent, stylish restoration midway between Canary Wharf and the City. Limehouse DLR 5 min walk. 2 stops to Bank and Tower Bridge. 5 mins walk to River.
Description
This zone 2 one bed top floor flat (second floor) with spacious living room is super-independent in a small block of five flats. Situated on a corner it has no contiguous walls with the flat next door. Even if it did I have great neighbours!
If you are a cyclist working in the City or Canary Wharf you are 5 to 10 minutes from work (along dedicated cycle lanes), depending on your energy levels.
No bicycle? The flat is a pleasant 5 min walk to Limehouse DLR line, two stops to Bank Central line or Tower Bridge DLR, District and Circle Line. 1 minute walk to the end of the road are a plethora of buses taking you to central London. It’s a 15 mins bus ride to Shoreditch where the action is.
The kitchen is brand new and includes dishwasher and washer-dryer machine. There's enough room for three people to eat in the kitchen and natter with the cook. In the living room the desk can become a long dining table if you want to seat six for a meal.
The living room sofas are two full size single bed-sized, so if you have guests to stay there is plenty of room for them.
A 5 min walk along the canal brings you to one the loveliest pubs in London, The Grapes, overlooking the River Thames with fabulous views to Tower Bridge. There is also a beautiful walk to Broadway Market, via Victoria park along the canal, full of activity - human and animal (coots and swans nesting, the odd pike) - and architectural and surprises.
The flat is 30 seconds from a range of groceries and (arguably) the best and cheapest greasy spoon in London, The Anchor, Salmon Lane. There is a Lidl and a Tesco’s five mins walk away.
I recently completely restored the flat in mid century modernist style, so it would suit someone who appreciates living in an aesthetically pleasing as well as comfortable environment. I could have made it into two beds as it is big enough, but preferred to create a one bedroom with an open-plan space, with large living room.
