Borth is a vibrant seaside holiday resort 7 miles north of Aberystwyth, on the Wales Coast Path. Borth beach is safe for bathing/ swimming/ surfing and is therefore popular with holidaymakers, day trippers and local residents. At high tide the beach is predominantly shingle, while low tide exposes wide areas of sandy beach stretching more than 5 km from Borth to Ynyslas, including sand dunes) by the Dyfi estuary, which is popular with kite-surfers and sand yachters. Low tide also regularly exposes the remains of an ancient forest.

The village has its own railway station (including station museum), primary school and bus links to local secondary schools and Aberystwyth University, an annual carnival, golf course, community gardens, RNLI station, fire station, animalarium/zoo (with the most recent addition of lions!).

Within the village are cafes, galleries, pubs, restaurant, shops (Spar , Nisa, Chippy, Ice cream emporium) and in 2016 a boutique cinema is to open.

Borth is popular and has a lot to offer families with children, working people, retirees and holiday makers alike. The village has a strong community spirit and there is plenty to participate in (e.g. choir, book clubs, Celtic Longboat rowing, football), all of which are at ones fingertips via the Borth community website.

Hourly trains to/from Birmingham, Birmingham international, London, and Aberystwyth.

Borth features prominently in the popular television series ‘Hinterland’.
