We are proud to sell our beautiful family home. An individually designed house built in 1924, it has a very warm and welcoming feel. Since buying it in 2007 it has been fully refurbished throughout. A life in Hightown gives you the best of both worlds. It is a very pretty village in a semi-rural environment. It has excellent rail and road connections to Liverpool, M57/58 and M62. Hightown station is 2-3 minutes walk away and has train links to Liverpool City Centre (20 minutes) and Southport (15 minutes) every 15 minutes.
Sandy Lane is an idyllic country lane with nearby Rose Cottage being home to ducks, geese and peacocks ! There are horses in the fields around. The Hightown Cricket and Sports Club, opposite the house, plays host to 3 cricket teams, a bowling green and both hard and grass tennis courts with an active tennis club. There is also a rugby and football league in the winter months. The clubhouse is a favourite watering hole for the neighbours and hosts social events throughout the year. In the holidays it also hosts a very well organised holiday club for the village children and there are plenty of children's events at St Stephen's Church. The hightown pub has opened a community centre with a village library and there are also several events for mums and tots, playgroups, coffee mornings for the older generation. There are some lovely coastal walks long this stretch of beach and it also has excellent cycle routes to both crosby and formby via a stunning coastline.
We have a lovely community of neighbours with both young families and older generations. There is a village shop open till late 7 days a week. There is a pub in the village and several excellent gastropubs within the vicinity. Hightown is on the sefton coast with direct access to a lovely sandy beach. There is a sailing club and excellent children's park on the other side of the village.
Hightown is in the catchment area for primary and secondary schools in Formby and Crosby. They are are excellent and children can attend them by school bus or train and both are 5-10 minutes drive away. Independent schools are also within a 10 minute drive including Merchant Taylors, St Mary's college and Streatham House school. Scarisbrick Hall School is approximately 20 minutes drive away.
