Victoria Rd is a quiet road as lorries or buses cannot use it - the rail bridge at the bottom makes it too tight. Very convenient as the 700 Coastline bus goes past the bottom of Vic Rd very frequently - via Palmeria Sq into Brighton, or the locks are round the corner with almost an private Southwick Beach and Carots Cafe a little further along.
Off street charging! I never imagined when I moved here that off-street parking would become so important! Electric cars are coming - and have already arrived for some people. A driveway makes for a much easier overnight charge. Hand in hand with that, this house is ideally suited for roof-top photovoltaic panels - which I am slightly ashamed I didn't install here. The roof is there, facing the right direction, so again, that's only a matter of time..
Southwick Green is an old medieval village and has a bundle of character and a safe community feel. One road behind, Kingston Rd is host to Shoreham Academy, in the Top 5 Telegraph Schools and other good local schools are close at hand too. Children walk around, unusually appearing safe and confident, and unaccompanied. It is a really lovely place to live - last summer I thought I was in an episode of Neighbours when my niece and I grabbed towels, bikes, and cycled for 3 mins to get to the beach and swim in warm clean waves! Then in the winter, sitting in front of a log fire makes staying at home a pleasure.
