A fully serviced and equipped, 2 bedroom apartment with a spacious feel, fun view, bright and sunny. Overlooking a quiet, traffic free square. World Heritage Old Town central location on Royal Mile. Close to Castle, station and shops. Street performances, restaurants, walking tours and more on the doorstep. You will enjoy the comfort and luxurious facilities of this beautiful top floor apartment with its two double bedrooms.

The property is set up for holiday guests, hence the luxurious and all inclusive facilities; out-of-season each bedroom is available separately (all bills included) to people looking for somewhere to stay short term i. e. for a few days or weeks. You may be sharing the facilities with the Owner (he visits rarely), another flatmate or a couple renting short term just like you. Why not find someone else to take the other room using this site's Buddy Up option.

It is not possible to arrange a prior viewing. We believe this is unnecessary in view of the high standard of the facilities and the regular professional cleaning. Text for more information and images.

What do our Guests really appreciate? The central Old Town location, meaning you can walk everywhere, the amenities within the apartment, its spacious feel and Edinburgh’s huge range of interesting things to do many on the doorstep.

What do our Guests not like so much? The 57 steps from ground level to the front door with no lift and the out door bins - both of which are the consequence of the very central location and about which we receive little negative feedback! Being city center, weekend nights are vibrant but again we have few complaints about the noise. The apartment is completely free from traffic noise as it is situated on a pedestrian only square.

One bedroom has a double bed, and the other has two singles capable of being set up as a luxurious double bed.

There is a bright, sunny, open plan living room with fascinating views over The Writers Museum and pedestrian square, active with its daily walking tours, and towards The Castle. Three-seater and 2-seater leather sofas in the living room, a dining suite and spacious facilities provide lots of room for our guests.

The apartment has a fully fitted and equipped kitchen with dishwasher, fridge, microwave, full cooker/hob, toaster facilities and modest storage space for food etc.; a modern bathroom with bath and electric shower and a washing machine in the utility space. Full spec internet and fast wifi connection. Smart 3D flat screen TV. Hair dryer.

During your stay you will have quick and easy access to Princes Street shopping and the enormous choice of central Edinburgh attractions, some literally on your doorstep and most within a 15 minutes walk.

This 4th floor apartment is situated in the heart of Edinburgh's Auld (Old) Town and in the local area you will find everything you need for a great stay; there are food shops, 100s of cafes and restaurants, takeaways, bars and clubs - all within a short walk of your front door. It is also just a short 5-10 min walk to Edinburgh train and bus stations, so you can easily explore more of Scotland and North of England!

Travelling by car? Don't, there's no need, and no car parking with the property. There is a multi story car park 5 mins walk from the apartment on King Stables Road (4 hr max and £2 ph between 8: 30 am and 6: 30pm) and metered parking nearer on Johnstone Terrace (£3ph same hours). Try the web site, parkopedia, for information and other car parks for £15 and £19 per 24 hrs, 10-12 mins walk away and there is sometimes a private drive available for £5. 50 per day quite close. Edinburgh City Council out of town Park and Ride car parks are mostly free and many include overnight parking. I park my car on the street free off Leith Walk and leave it there for the duration – see parkopedia map!

The apartment was exactly as advertised, right in the heart of the Royal Mile. The location cannot be beat! Our host prepared excellent and detailed directions on how to get to the apartment, how to pick up the keys, how things work (a lot of the equipment would be unfamiliar to North Americans) and tips on great restaurants/pubs nearby. The apartment was very clean, and had nice touches like tea/coffee/cookies and soap/shampoo in the washroom. The only caution is that this is a fourth floor walk up, and some might find the stairs too much, especially with luggage. However, we were up for the challenge, and really enjoyed our time in Edinburgh at this apartment. Justine, September 2015.

It's quite something that the building is hundreds of years old and has been so well modernized. The flat was well equipped and the washer was a bonus. John was nice enough to leave coffee and cookies. The location was perfect, close to everything and quiet after the ghost tour at 9: 00. Loved Edinburgh, and would stay here again. Our family enjoyed our stay very much. The place was very comfortable, in an excellent location and overall provided us with a great family experience! We stayed at this apartment for 3 nights as we were visiting Edinburgh for a wedding. The location of the apartment is absolutely perfect: less than a minute walk from the Royal Mile, and very close to the castle and major tourist attractions. We could not believe how convenient it was and 100% recommend staying here if you want to be in the middle of everything. The apartment itself is perfect for four. We slept very well each night and the living area and bedrooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable. Despite being just steps from the main street, the apartment was very quiet. We did not find the steps up to the apartment to be a problem. John is an amazing host and made our stay very easy. He sent instructions for finding and entering the apartment in advance and they were very clear and helpful. He left suggestions for places to visit and clear instructions regarding the internet/TV/shower etc., and it all made the stay very relaxing and stress free. We contacted John about one very minor issue during the stay and he responded to emails/texts within minutes and took care of it. Having a host like that is very much appreciated! An absolutely fantastic location right in the heart of Edinburgh! We stayed in John's place for five nights in late September during the Ryder Cup, and couldn't have been more pleased. The apartment itself suited our needs perfectly. Small living room and two bedrooms (one with two single beds, the other a double). We didn't use the kitchen at all. The steps up to the flat were no problem for us at all, but might be an issue for some with mobility concerns. The wifi was great (and fast). The lockbox for the keys was easy to use. Everything was in great working order (and quite clean). We arrived late at night at the train station and were worried about finding the address, but navigating to the flat actually turned out to be quite easy (if uphill the whole way).
