Description

A very spacious, high quality, high specification home, in the sought after village of Caunton. The house has a warm and homely feel and is well decorated, including a professionally hand-made beech kitchen and a stunning bathroom. We lived here over a number of years, and it is a lovely family home.

Downstairs there is a very large 28ft lounge with an oak floor, wood burner and double French windows, which open up to the front patio and lawn and garden beyond.

Next to the lounge is a hand-made beech country-kitchen and also a separate breakfast room. In addition, downstairs there is the entrance hall, a dining room, a utility room and downstairs toilet.

Upstairs there are three large double bedrooms, one with built in cupboards, the bathroom and a landing that is large enough to use as an office, with great views of the front garden and across the village.

The house has three loft spaces and lots of other storage space. A previous owner was a carpenter and his high quality work in seen throughout the house.

The front of the house has a private raised patio, a garden, a large covered area in front of the entrance, and off-road parking for two cars.

The back of the house also has a patio, a rear garden, a large light-filled workshop / studio (24 feet by 8 feet) with power, three skylights, and a large window, with amazing views across the fields behind the house. The lambs come down to the back fence in the spring!

Caunton is a great village with a primary school, two pubs; a local and a gastro pub. These is a play area near the school with swings and climbing frames for children. There is also a football pitch and a lawn tennis club. The house is at the quiet end of the village and has little passing traffic.

The village is in the Southwell Minster school catchment area and is four miles from Southwell, a pretty little town with great to places to eat and drink, a range of shops including a supermarket, a gym and pool, twice weekly markets, the stunning Minster and of course the race course.

It's five miles from Newark, which has a number of restaurants and pubs, a cinema, a theatre, a brand new gym and pool, and supermarkets including a Waitrose. It's with easy access to the A1 (8 minutes away) and A46 (15 mins away) which is dual carriageway all the way to the M1, or Lincoln in the other direction. You can catch a train from Newark to London Kings Cross (approx. 1hr 20m) and Leeds and York to the North.

Come a take a look at the house - everyone loves it when they get inside and comment on how large the rooms are, how much storage there is, and how it feels much more homely and high-spec than average rental properties.

Sorry no smoking. Pets considered on a case by case basis.
