3. What the house has to offer

1. The Location

Tynemouth village is positioned at the mouth of the River Tyne and has excellent road and rail links to the A1 and Newcastle. It developed around the 7thc monastery and is a Conservation Area comprised of mainly Georgian houses at the core of the village.

For more history see the following link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tynemouth

As well as its historical heritage, Tynemouth is recognised for its walks (piers, beaches, sea fronts, parks), sports (surfing, jetski, Tynemouth Yachting Club, Tynemouth Golf Club, Tynemouth Swimming Pool), cycling (the Coast to Coast cycle ride ends at Tynemouth) and dining (restaurants, cafes, bars, a deli, and even a chocolatier).

2. The Location of Percy Street

Built in 1820. Predominantly still Georgian, Percy Street was originally called Back Street when the village comprised two streets (Front Street & Back Street).

The more private and sheltered of the two beaches in Tynemouth, King Edward's Bay is 100 yards from the front door.

The house is situated 200 yards from the medieval castle and priory of Tynemouth. See the following link for more information:

Schools

The private fee paying school King Edward's recently merged with the local authority primary school - Priory, to form the new academy King's Priory.

The school is located at the end of Percy Street. There are also three nurseries within 5 minutes walking distance.

A 20 minute walk along the river front will take you to the historic Fish Quay of North Shields.

The area is ideal for cycling, with wide pavements and cycle tracks (6 mile cycle ride to the National Trust owned Seaton Delaval Hall is all cycle track/pavement)
